Welcome to Sharp Rehab Blog

Hi there, welcome to the Rachel Sharp Rehab blog – your new go-to hub for all things related to sports rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and sports therapy. I’m thrilled to kick off this journey with you, and I can’t wait to share valuable insights, useful information, and maybe even a few laughs along the way.

So, why should you stick around and explore what there is to offer?

Well, let me break it down for you.

First off, let me introduce myself. I’m Rachel Sharp, and I opened Rachel Sharp Rehab back in August 2021. I have finally taken that first step and started this blog. Some years ago, I completed my first Sports Therapy qualification with Active Health Group (www.activehealthgroup.co.uk) and then went on to become a Graduate Sports Rehabilitator (GSR) and have been a registered member of BASRaT since 2008 (www.basrat.org). The journey certainly has been a fulfilling one. From working with amateur and professional sports teams, 10+ years of working as an Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor with the MoD to my transition to working with private clients. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of tailoring treatment plans to suit each individual’s needs.

Despite my title, I don’t limit my practice to athletes or sports-related injuries; I consider myself an Injury Rehab Specialist.

I have found I get the most satisfaction from the patients who find their lives have been seriously limited by what they can’t do, and I give them the confidence to do a bit more each time they come to see me. So, whether you’re recovering from a sports injury, a traumatic injury, managing a chronic condition, or dealing with everyday aches and pains, my mission remains steadfast: to empower you to reclaim your optimal health and lead a fulfilling life.

Now, let’s jump into why this blog is worth your time.

With the vast amount of information available online, it can be challenging to separate fact from fiction, and the damn right ridiculous (have you seen the video of a therapist using their foot to crack a jaw and throat?!) especially when it comes to injury rehabilitation. That’s where I come in. Whether you’re on the road to recovery from an injury, navigating a chronic condition, or simply seeking to enhance your overall well-being, this blog is your go-to resource.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect:

1.      Understanding the Cost of Private Physiotherapy: Have you ever wondered why the cost of private physiotherapy and sports rehab varies so much? In upcoming posts, I’ll delve into the factors influencing pricing, helping you make informed decisions about your health journey.

2.      Therapist-Client Chemistry: Finding the right therapist is essential for a successful rehabilitation journey. I’ll share tips on how to choose the therapist who’s the perfect fit for you, ensuring a productive and enjoyable therapeutic partnership.

3.      Holistic Happiness: My approach isn’t just about fixing a sore muscle; it’s about boosting your overall well-being. Discover the magic of a holistic approach to health and why it’s more exciting than a kale smoothie (I promise!).

4.      You, the VIP: No handouts of pre-printed exercises or one-size-fits-all treatment plans here! Learn how personalized treatment plans are like a tailored suit, perfectly fitting your unique needs to ensure a top-notch rehab experience.

But wait, there’s more! In addition to these topics, I’ll also be shedding light on common conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and arthritis, as well as the significance of self-care, stress management, and other lifestyle factors that impact physical health.

Injuries may strike unexpectedly, but with the right approach and techniques, swift recovery is within reach. That’s where I step in.

As I embark on this blogging endeavour, I anticipate sharing the triumphs and challenges of building and nurturing the clinic. Your comments, questions, and feedback are not only welcome but eagerly anticipated. Your input is invaluable as we embark on this journey together. Let’s connect, engage, and inspire one another on the path to optimal health and well-being.

And hey, if you ever have any suggestions for future topics or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time,

Rach 👋😊
